Beware 2012

There is a movie coming out simply called 2012. It is capitalizing on the worry that the world is going to end in the year 2012.

Ten years ago the world was going to end on New Year's day, with planes falling out of the sky and everything just blowing up. Since that has been ten years, obviously nothing happened as people had predicted. So what is going to happen in the next three years? Nobody knows. It is all speculation.

However, with a movie like this coming out there are going to be some weirdos that will be acting like this is a factual telling of what is to become. There are already websites out there telling the whole story of the impending apocalypse. I guess that we should all be prepared for the impending Crazy Circus. That is more likely to happen than the Earth crashing into the Sun. On the bright side, the rest of us will have brainless sheep to laugh at...

McKenzie Pass Conquered

I was finally able to make a run through McKenzie Pass, as I was unable last time due to weather. It was a beautiful day for a ride and McKenzie Pass was more spectacular than I could have imagined. I got quite a few pictures. The article has been up for a day already, but if you haven't checked it out, please feel free to do so. If you like it, please tell your friends about it.

New Entry

Ok all, there is a new entry on my restaurant review blog. Please feel free to go check it out. It is another Seattle restaurant, but one of my faves after midnight. Beth's Cafe, the home of the 12 egg omelette. Although I have not yet had the intestinal fortitude to give the 12 egg monster a go, I was lucky enough to catch a guy who tried. There are before and after pictures of the omelette...

New Blog

I have started a new blog. It is called The Blacksheep Restaurant Reviews. I travel a lot and was advised that I would be good at eating and writing about it. So I am giving it a shot. Please take a look, leave a comment, start following, eat where I eat, whatever. LOL. The first post is there and ready to be read.

I Love This Stuff

In my most recent article on my Examiner.com page, I did a write up about a new ad from Buell stating that it was ok not to wave to other motorcyclists because you are on a Buell. There are a couple of things that bothered me about this ad, the biggest being that we as motorcyclists need to stick together. Then to have a manufacturer come along and try to put a "snob twist" on their product? That only serves to drive a wedge into the biking community.

As I was checking the comments today, I read one from a Buell rider. He said that I can go ahead and "wave my arm off" and that he would wave back, "but only with one finger". My first reaction was, "Oh no, I offended someone."

Then I started to think about this...

Why is it that they were offended? I didn't attack them personally. Then the journalist in me finally received the caffeine that I had been pumping in for the last almost hour and kicked in the door of my thoughts. "The subject matter. You have brought out an emotional response from someone. You dragged that out of them, with nothing more than a few keystrokes."

Talk about a feeling of power. I think that I am going to enjoy my career...
