Family Fun Day: A Photo Essay

Clockwise from upper left: Olive Karnowski of Albany rides a rocking horse in the Romp and Play Yard area at Family Fun day at Linn Benton Community College. The Family Fun Day is put together by the Family Resource Center at LBCC.

All the money raised during the Family Fun Day goes to a tuition grant fund. One of the ways to raise money is the raffle where baskets like this one are given away. This basket was put together in memory of Joyce Brown, the director of the Albany Family Literacy program, whose life was taken prematurely by cancer on Sept. 19, 2008.

Kane Damon of Corvallis takes his turn at the Target Toss, throwing beanbags at collapsing targets. This two year old hit three out of four targets easily. Each activity takes one ticket to participate in, and each ticket was 25 cents each.

Officer Kyle Voll of the Corvallis Police Department was on hand to give out stickers to the children and let them check out the inside of a police car. Even with the cold weather on this Saturday, the kids loved to check out the car and always had a question to ask him.

The Silly Putty and Playdough table is the favorite, with a huge selection of molding tools and many different colors of Playdough and Silly Putty to choose from. More than just playing, you can also buy the different colors of Playdough and Silly Putty.
